Our Classroom Website

This page is very similar to Jasmine's school, just in a much smaller scale since you are attending Virtual Virginia.  This page is namely for three things:

Algebra Assistance:  I will be following along once a week in regards to the current situation, whatever it might be, of your Algebra class.  On this page, no more than once a week, you will find any tidbits of helpful information that I may be able to give to you.  I may refer you to a particular site or give you an example of how a certain problem should be worked out.  I will not be giving out assignments like I did last year and I will not be as hands-on.  However, on Tuesdays at Thursdays at 330, I will be available for any SPECIFIC problem that you may have, meaning do not come at me with general questions and expect an hour's lecture.  Give me specifics so that I can explain to you within 10 - 20 minutes.

Helpful Links:  On this page, you will find a collection of websites that will be extremely beneficial for you should you come to any certain hurdle within the year.  If you cannot go to one of these links and research how to do a certain problem, then either you really don't understand the layout of the problem or your Algebra teacher is making up stuff as he/she goes along.  Of course, if you GO to all of these links and still cannot FIND the answer, that would be a good time to see me on Tuesday or Thursday.

Vocabulary:  As I've told you too many times, the extent of both yours and Jasmine's vocabulary is not enough to fill up an index card box.  We need to work on that.  Each week, starting on Monday September 11, you will find a list here of 10 - 15 words that should be in any given person's vocabulary.  (Of course, we know this not to be true; people are typically ignorant, but that does not mean that we need to join them.)  Sometimes just the words will be there, sometimes both the words and the definitions.  If the definitions are not there, then it will be your responsibility to go to dictionary.com and find out the different meanings for each vocabulary word.  Most Fridays, not all, starting on September 15, you and your sister will be playing a game called Sibling Rivalry.  It will be very similar to the game of Jeopardy.  Whoever gets the most definitions correct, of course will win the game.  There will be SMALL prizes given out.

Pinkie Pie Video-of-the-Month:  And finally, to keep me content, you need a bit of Pinkie Pie in your life!  You will not be quizzed on this or given any assignments, although I may bring up the video during small-time conversations.  Therefore, you really should take 5 minutes out of your life and watch it.  You never know, you might learn something.
